What to Expect When You Book Me as Your Wedding Photographer
Once you choose me as your photographer, our journey together begins with getting to know you—your story, your style, and your vision.
📅 Let’s Meet First
We'll schedule a meeting at your convenience—whether it’s over the phone, a video call, or in person at a location that works for you. This is our time to chat, ask questions, and see if we’re the right fit for each other. I love connecting with my clients before the big day—it helps us build a genuine connection and ensures you're completely comfortable in front of my camera.
💍 Engagement & Bridal Sessions
As soon as your wedding date is set, we can start planning your engagement or bridal portraits (if you’d like to include them). These sessions are a great way to celebrate this exciting time in your life—and a fun way to get used to being photographed before the big day!
📸 On Your Wedding Day
I’ll arrive early to scout the venue and capture all the important details before the ceremony begins. From getting ready to your final exit, I’ll follow our carefully crafted timeline to make sure nothing is missed—your love story, your people, and all the magical moments in between.
🖼 After the Wedding
In the weeks that follow, I’ll professionally edit your images and upload them to a private online gallery, so you can easily view, download, and share with family and friends. I’ll also begin preparing any products you’ve chosen—albums, prints, wall art, and more.
✨ My mission is to capture your wedding day beautifully and authentically, so that your memories can be cherished and relived for a lifetime.
Do you have experience shooting in various lighting situations?
Absolutely! With over 10 years of experience, I’ve photographed in all types of lighting—bright midday sun, golden hour glow, romantic candlelit receptions, and everything in between. I come fully prepared with professional lighting equipment and the knowledge to adapt to each setting to ensure your images are beautifully lit and true to the moment. Whether it's indoors, outdoors, rain or shine—I’ve got you covered!
Do you have insurance?
Yes, I am fully insured! Christy Pierce Photography, LLC carries both liability and equipment insurance. Many venues require photographers to be insured, and I’m always happy to provide a certificate of insurance upon request. This not only protects me and my gear—but also gives you peace of mind knowing you're working with a professional.
Do you have a replacement wedding photographer in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
While I take every possible precaution to ensure I’m there on your big day, I understand that emergencies can happen. In the unlikely event that I’m unable to attend, I have a trusted network of experienced professional photographers I can call on to step in. I would personally make sure they are briefed on your timeline, style preferences, and all the important details to ensure a seamless experience. Your wedding memories are far too important to leave to chance!
What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that we provide your meal?
Since weddings are typically long days with lots of moving parts, I do take short breaks as needed to stay energized and focused—usually during dinner or downtime when no key moments are happening. If coverage is 6 hours or more, I kindly request that a vendor meal be provided for myself (and second photographer if applicable), as we won’t have time to leave the venue for food. This allows us to stay close by and ready to capture every moment without missing a beat. However, this is not required. Thank you for thinking of us—we truly appreciate it!
Do you bring back-up equipment to the event in case of malfunction?
Yes, absolutely! I always bring professional backup equipment to every wedding, including extra camera bodies, lenses, memory cards, batteries, and lighting gear. Technical issues are rare, but I’m fully prepared just in case. Your wedding day is a once-in-a-lifetime event, and I take every precaution to ensure nothing is missed due to equipment failure.
Are you LGBTQ+ friendly?
Yes, 100%! Love is love, and I proudly welcome and celebrate all couples. My goal is to create a comfortable, safe, and joyful experience for everyone in front of my camera. Your love story is unique and beautiful, and I’m honored to capture it just as it is—with authenticity, care, and respect.
What primary photographic style do you identify with?
My style is a mix of classic, candid, and storytelling. I love capturing genuine moments—those in-between smiles, soft glances, and joyful tears—while also ensuring you have timeless, beautifully posed portraits to treasure forever. I aim for a natural, true-to-color edit that enhances your day without overpowering it, so your photos always feel like you. My approach is relaxed yet intentional, with a focus on documenting your day in a way that tells your unique story from start to finish.
Can some of our photos be delivered in both black & white and color?
Absolutely! I love offering both color and black & white versions of some of your photos to give you a variety of styles to choose from. While I carefully choose which images will be converted to black & white during the editing process, I can certainly provide both versions of the same image for you if you’d like. This way, you get the best of both worlds!
Are our digital files watermarked?
No, your high-resolution digital files will not be watermarked. Once your photos are finalized and delivered, you’ll receive high-resolution images with a print release, so you can use them freely for personal printing and sharing. I want you to enjoy your images without distractions or limitations! There will be a separate Logo Folder that includes low-resolution files with my logo on them, perfect for social media sharing.
Do we receive the raw, unedited files?
No, I do not provide raw, unedited files. As a photographer, my editing process is an essential part of creating the final images you will love. The editing is where I enhance the beauty of your photos, adjust lighting, colors, and ensure consistency across your gallery. You’ll receive only the fully edited, high-resolution files, so you can enjoy your photos in their best possible form.
Do you also provide video services?
At this time, I specialize in photography and do not offer video services. However, I can recommend some talented videographers that I trust and work alongside. If you're looking for a video option to complement your photography, just let me know, and I’d be happy to provide some recommendations!
Why is wedding photography so expensive?
Wedding photography is an investment, and the cost reflects the expertise, time, and resources that go into capturing and preserving your special day. From the hours spent planning, shooting, and editing to the high-quality equipment, insurance, and professional experience I bring, there are many behind-the-scenes elements that contribute to the overall price.
Additionally, your wedding day requires long hours of coverage, often ranging from 8 to 12 hours or more, including travel time, post-production editing, and the creation of physical products like albums or prints. My goal is to provide you with images that will last a lifetime, and that level of craftsmanship and dedication takes time and skill.
Ultimately, you're not just paying for the hours I spend with you on your wedding day—you're investing in the memories, the moments, and the beautiful photos that will preserve your love story for years to come.
